Andrea Saliba, HR

At the University of Malta, I studied Tourism and Management Studies; and on graduation, I joined Air Malta as a Cabin Crew for the summer, before going full-time. But even during my degree, I had always been interested in HR, and that led me to doing an MSc in HR & Training at the University of Leicester.  Not long after, I joined Konnekt as a recruitment specialist, before venturing into iGaming as People and Culture Manager.

iGaming ticked all my boxes and to be honest have exceeded my expectations. It’s international, fast-paced, dynamic, tech, driven and fun.  It’s a great environment to help you grow your career.

The biggest misconception is that we don’t do much work and have a laid back attitude – which is totally not the case. From the outside, you might perceive the industry as having great benefits and fun activities, but I can assure you there is a very good and healthy balance – which keeps you productive and engaged.

In May 2018 I joined Hero Gaming, first as HR Business Partner, although I had a number of roles in the company during my time there. I was part of the team that set up the Hero Gaming Foundation (HGF) – which was all about helping to make Hero Gaming a socially accountable and responsible operator. The HGF was created to ensure a level of sustainability in causes which benefit the community and the environment. After my almost 5 years at Hero Gaming, I spent a short while at Kindred, before moving to my current role as Head of People & Culture at Rhino Entertainment. The industry is very fast paced and evolves quickly, but that’s what I love about it!”
